This is a strange week. The kids had Monday off for Labor Day, Tuesdays are early days, today they have a full day, but tomorrow they are off again, and on Friday they have school once more. Somehow all of this inconsistency is making it hard for me to settle into anything. I should be working on my screenplay, but instead I am writing this.
Over all, school is going very well. Both girls are excelling and I couldn’t be prouder. I am truly blessed to have such incredible kids. Tori was worried and anxious before starting high school but she has settled in, and in fact, seems more comfortable than she has ever been. Tessa has some of her favorite teachers again this year, so she has also transitioned back easily. Of course, they would both prefer to sleep in and skip school all together, but then that’s what makes them typical teenagers.
Life is progressing despite all of the usual stresses that rear their ugly heads, and I think it’s important to take the time to appreciate the things that are going well. I am lucky to have friends and family around me who make me smile, so while I’m distracted I thought I’d take a moment to acknowledge it. I also thought that as an homage to the Happiness Tuesdays I used to do each week, I’d post some of my favorite recent photos, taken by my very talented sister, of course. Enjoy!
