I don’t understand spammers. For one thing, they are so transparent. It’s pretty obvious that when you start a message with “Dear” or “Hello Gorgeous” that you are not someone I know because I don’t know smarmy people like that. I am also not so foolish as to believe that random strangers are truly going to give me hundreds of thousands of dollars. You have to wonder who is. Lastly, I have no interest in viewing Russian singles or purchasing any of the fat burning, male enhancement, hair growth products being offered.
Lately the spammers have jumped into Facebook. I’m alerted to a message and yet it is from someone I’ve never heard of, and they tell me they only have a few seconds… which is when I click out because I’m guessing what they are really saying is that they only have a few seconds to hack into my account. Why they would want to, I can’t imagine. I am a writer. A very broke writer. You are all barking up the wrong tree and it would serve you right to hack into my bank account. Perhaps you could pay the fees!
So, yeah, that’s happening and at the same time Facebook keeps alternating between telling me to friend people and then telling me I’ve been banned from friending people. These are very confusing times. Technology is driving me a little crazy.
