Nirvana

It’s been nearly a year now that we have been living next door to a construction zone. Six days a week, come rain or come shine, holiday or not, we awake to the sounds of generators, hammers and the occasional cement truck, not to mention a variety of workers. Workers who are so close to our bedroom windows that we not only hear every word they say, but we don’t dare open our blinds because if we did we would all come face to face. The building is so tall now that it blocks out most of the natural light anyway. Thus the reason I dream of this…

I want to sit up on this beautiful sun porch overlooking the ocean, and write there. Can’t you just imagine how warm the sun shining across your shoulder would feel? Give me a pen and paper, my laptop, or just a sketch pad and some pencils. Let me spend the day wiling away the hours to the distant sound of crashing waves. Now that would be Heaven!

Where would you spend the afternoon if given the chance?

  1. Awww man Bridget. I you are taking that from your window that is ridiculously close! I guess you looked forward to visiting your sister for the peace and quiet. I would love to overlook the ocean and write the old fashioned way. Pad and paper!
