Did you see it? If you weren’t in California on Friday you probably didn’t. There was much excitement around here though. People were coming out of offices and houses everywhere to catch a glimpse of the space shuttle on its final flight home. I missed it and I’ll be honest, I didn’t get all of the hoopla. My sister went out and found a good observation point and took the above photo and it’s cool, but ehh, I just wasn’t feeling it.

Searching for My Wand

I wish I could have seen it. I’m not a science buff, but the Shuttle is a significant part of our history. I’ve visited Johnson Space Center which is where Mission Control is located. It’s fascinating. I’ve also been to Edwards AFB there in SoCal. The whole space program has contributed quite a bit to society.
It IS thrilling. I remember seeing a similar sight back in 1982 from the top of the World Trade Center…I felt like I could just reach out and pluck those toy planes out of the sky!
