It’s hot today. Like really hot. Like suffocatingly, there’s no air left and I’m melting so who needs air anyway kind of hot. Then again, it’s August, so it was bound to happen. We in L.A. have gotten off relatively easy this summer, at least up until now.
Although I by no means consider myself to be a pyschic, I have to say, I saw this coming. It’s all tied into the kids going back to school. You see, orientation is tomorrow and Friday, and then they head back next week. It is a long held tradition to have sweltering tempetures for that first week of school. LAUSD can change the start date every year, but the weather knows. I guess it’s all seeing. So fear not, all is how it should be, and no doubt we’ll all survive the coming week, but take precautions because it’s going to be a long one.

I love the morning that I walk Christopher to the bus stop and I can smell Fall coming. We had a telling sky this weekend but the temps didn’t say a WORD!
I know where you’re coming from since I don’t live far from you. Finally been turning on the AC for a couple hours each day. And an earthquake just as I was entering this comment. Second one in less than 12 hours. Oh, L.A.!

Tossing It Out
I felt the one last week, but this week’s have so far been too far away, which is just fine by me.
Great shot!
It was 116 degrees today – My skin is on fire!
Yikes! My BabyBoy is down there with you. No wonder he hasn’t called for a while, he must have melted!
That palm tree actually looks like it is bowing beneath the weight of the heat. Dear me. What a great picture.
